Stay in the Word Bible Studies
These Bible studies aren’t intended to be exhaustive. They’re written as an encouragement for your own study in God’s Word and to provide a catalyst for your heart and mind to be engaged with the Word. While the studies are intended to take about 30-40 minutes, there are some studies that need a little more time to cover the material. Just remember there’s no rule on how long to study, or how much you cover in a session. The goal is to help you enjoy studying God’s Word and become more consistent and effective with your study time.
The first book of the Bible, the “book of beginnings”. This study has 16 sessions as we look at 7 Milestones that provide the foundation of God’s dealings with Man from the beginning through 2000 years of history. Creation, the Fall, the Flood, Abraham,, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph. The roots of our faith and our redemption are found in these pages and it is essential that we have this foundation clearly in mind as we study all of God’s Word.
As we open the book of John, we are confronted in the first chapter with two major shifts in man’s earth journey. First, the Apostle John declares the miracle of God Himself in the person of His Son, truly God and existing eternally as God, had come to earth in the form of a man in order to be a witness to the world of God’s salvation. Then John the Baptist bursts onto the scene like a voice in the wilderness, fulfilling the prophecy of his mission, declaring “Behold the Lamb of God!”, pointing to the ultimate destiny of this God-man going to the Cross to be our Savior. As we walk with Jesus from Cana to Capernaum, then to Jerusalem, we are privileged to see His passion and feel His pain. These 24 study sessions will provide you with many opportunities to learn deeply about the Lord Jesus, so be ready to quietly sit at His feet.
Can you imagine having a “mountain top experience”? Perhaps you know someone who has had that happen. Another way to think of mountains is if you have the opportunity to spend time around some of our world’s mountain ranges. There is something special about the grandeur of these great testimonies to the majesty and power or God. They remind you of the Creator, and point you back to Him! In this study, the 18 sessions will guide you through an expedition exploring Romans, the “Mount Everest” of the Bible. This book is powerfully organized and written by Paul, as he lays out a thorough doctrinal foundation for our Christian faith. We learn the biblical truths that establish our faith in Christ, and then how to live that faith in our needy world.
Since the beginning of man’s journey on earth, he has struggled to understand who God is and how to deal with sin in his life, even after receiving Christ as Savior. Hebrews is written in order to encourage Christians to take their faith in Jesus Christ seriously and stay faithful to what we know is true about His work as our Savior. The world will try to distract and confuse us, but we must “fix our eyes on Jesus” to persevere in our faith and “run the race” with endurance.
